I want to shout

***

Hear me out

Let me shout

You cannot kill my right

To come out en masse

And express

My frustration

Against repression

Or corruption.

  1. Great piece and amazing reflection of our time. This poem puts light to the unspoken perseverance displayed by those who have been misrepresented. And I love the choice of music you put here, did you know most of Tilahun’s song-writers used their lyrics to express social injustice? Thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. Thank you Martish! Glad you like it! 🙂 Yes, some of Tilahun’s songs have deeper meanings and those who wrote the lyrics must hve seen beyond personal relationships but had to make his songs seem simple to avoid censorship of the political actors of the time.

  2. Ah 🙂
the Amharic script. Your shout also looks so melodic with the dancing script.

May your shouts be heard. May more voices add to your shout. Things will change.
