Two Hearts, One Soul

Two hearts, one soul
I carry them as I travel

***

One heart is confident
The other shy
One goes to the left, one to the right
Together journey, they barely try

***

One is somber, the other upbeat
One is clumsy, the other sharp
One is gentle, the other brute
One is free, the other in a trap

***

One is a butterfly
The other a hermit crab
One loves to cry
The other to absorb

***

They fight, they strive
They boil, they fry
Together they live
Together they die

***

Oh, how they make me feel!
Two hearts, one soul
I carry them as I travel
Oh, how I tremble!

***

Am absolutely addicted to this music, just so good: πŸ™‚

  1. that’s just so beautiful Elyas πŸ™‚
such a light and playful poem, and yet with lots of meaning …
“they boil, they fry” and yet they survive πŸ™‚

now this is something I can understand a bit more than Haiku πŸ˜‰

  2. I like the contrasts which are there within most of us. In a way they keep us going. But at times, “One goes to the left, one to the right” – no wonder they cannot try a journey together.
