Breaking the silence

I wanna blast!
I wanna quack!
I wanna shout!
I wanna creak!

I wanna speak
loudly and clearly
because am tired
of screaming silently!

I wanna breakdance,
but with my words!
I wanna slam,
I wanna scream,
SUPER LOUD!

Forget solitude.

I wanna shatter the windows,
but with my words,
so I can break the silence,
so I can let the light in
to destroy this darkness
that stands in between
me and my inner fire!

Silence
kills,
like cancer
it consumes,
sometimes.

Break it!

  1. Let it out…..silence isn’t golden if you have feelings bubbling and boiling hot inside. One needs to let the fiery heat out before the volcano erupts and endangers others.

    1. I meant to say…..great piece! I got so caught up in it! See..what a great poet you are?
Full of emotion…..I could feel the words building in intensity as the poem went on. It sure captured me!

  2. Silence does speak louder than words sometimes…but only if you let it. I know you’re definitely not going to let it after reading this poem. Beautiful. Wanting to break out, to overpower the silence – such a simple wish, simple dream, but still something that requires that extra amount of effort.
